A gentle escape

For the past four years my parents have taken the same holiday home in a quaint little spot near the Dorset coast. It's a beautiful, rambling Georgian house filled to the brim with historical features from its sixteenth century panelling (still intact) to the beautiful pieces of furniture that provide added warmth and cosiness to an already impressively spacious property.

It has become like a second home to our (ever expanding) wider family and we simply love coming back with our kids, cousins, uncles, aunties and, not least, the grandparents.
Since we have been here and in fact everytime we visit, I really find myself letting go and embracing a quiet pace of life. We spend more time exploring the vast grounds than venturing out to the surrounding local area and I feel totally content spending our days this way.

Ilsington Farmhouse sure is a gentle, luxurious escape from the ordinary and after being here for the last few days, I have quite a collection of photos to share with you! (More on that soon!)

Despite the obvious rather magnificent facade, it really is the little details that capture me most about this house; the floor to ceiling bookcases, the enormous working fireplaces, the original windows and the beautiful trinkets, flowers and ornaments that decorate almost every surface.

It's a treasure trove for anyone who loves all things home- decor related and I can't wait to share more with you over the coming days!

Love,
