THE SKALDS

The human need for stories is a powerful and a universal human trait. Over the centuries all cultures have had storytellers, influences and messengers.

The Skalds, like the British Bards and French Troubadours were highly regarded citizens in Norse culture, they would travel from town to town sharing their stories, poems and songs in return for money and food. Not only could they define the reputation of an individual through poems, fables and song but they were also revered teachers and historians that held the entirety of the Norse culture in their hands.
